SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF GLACIER PRESERVATION
“Tajikistan – the driving force for glacier conservation in the world”
Dushanbe 14.03.2024
On March 14, 2024 at 09:00 in the conference hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan will hold a scientific-practical conference on “Tajikistan – the driving force of glacier preservation in the world” dedicated to global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon on water and climate issues including protection of glaciers and declaration of “2025 – International Year of Glacier Preservation”, “March 21 – World Glacier Preservation Day” and “Twenty Years of Study and Development of Natural, Exact and Mathematical Sciences” with the participation of schoolchildren.
Conference goals:
- Promoting a global initiative on declaring “March 21 as World Glacier Preservation Day” as well as “2025 as the International Year of Glacier Preservation”;
- Informing schoolchildren about the state of glaciers in the context of global warming;
- Developing key ways to collaborate and engage schoolchildren in the field of glaciology;
- Explaining the ways of radiation’s impact on climate change, the environment, and humans.
